Finding digikamrc file

My understanding is that to make a backup of digiKam you should back up the the four db-files and the config file digikamrc. In the ‘digiKam Recipes’ book it says to find the latter in the ~/.config folder but I don’t see it.

I am running digiKam as an appimage (on Linux Mint). Does this mean I don’t have a digikamrc file?

Hi, i am running also Linux Mint and the appimage (7.6) from digikam.
My digikamrc file is in “$HOME/.config/digikamrc” as a file, not a folder.
Hope you find it …

Thank you! Found it. I see a couple of other digikam files in that folder. I wonder if I need to back up them as well?

I have indeed also another file “digikam_systemrc” in .config, but only 76 byte long.
Perhaps you can backup that as well. I have found that this file probably has nothing to do with the appimage but with a normal install through Synaptic or a .deb file.
When I rename that file to digikam_systemrc-org, after starting digikam appimage, this does not create that file in .config, so … In any case i do not backup that file, only digikamrc.
