First timer Play_raw

I have been lurking around these forums since I started photography (2ish years ago). I figure its about time I come in from the shadows!

As I was walking my local park I saw this scene and thought of Andrew Wyeth’s snow scenes. This is my attempt at that “look”.

I am still trying to grapple with my display calibration. I have really old gear and do not trust that what I am doing is accomplishing the goal. If anything looks really off, please let me know.

Your edit is very nice. I downloaded the file and I have played with it, but I can not yet improve upon your look. Well done. Too ashamed of my edit to post it yet. I will try and revisit it again later.

Here is one interpretation. Instead of sharpening it, I went the other way and bloomed it. It feels more wintery, to me. Of course, it might be wrong.

I have another version where I bloomed out the trees on the right for the same reason. It does feel more wintery to me too!

Nice edit…looked like that on my walk home from work today…I find its really hard to recreate the snowy / foggy scenes because you can get so tempted to amp things up…great version on your part…

I gave it a shot but as others have said - it’s pretty hard to improve on what you have done. DT 5.

An atmospheric photograph. I doubt I can “improve” it, but here is may play in GIMP.
I have tried to darken the immediate foreground features to emphasise the mistiness in the distance.
