FNumber (sometimes) not copied to jpeg

ART 1.7.1-43 on Linux
exiftool 12.14
Fujifilm X-E3 with Viltrox 85mm

There’s something strange happening with the metadata, especially the “FNumber” & “ExposureBias” fields.

For the attached image, the f-Number is correctly shown in the file browser:
file_browser

The editor (opened with double-click on the image) shows f/0.0 instead the correct value:
editor after doubleclick

Sometimes, the editor will also show the correct f-number, but i can’t find out on which circumstances the values are there.

The metadata field shows empty fields for FNumber and ExposureBias:
metadata

This happens for this image and ARP:
XE310142.RAF (25.3 MB)
XE310142.RAF.arp (10.5 KB)

As far as i can tell i have not manually messed around with any settings regarding Metadata export.
I have some images from the same series where the values in the metadata tab show up, e.g.:
metadata_2

But when looking at the data of an exported JPEG in nomacs, FNumber and ExposureBias are empty:
nomacs_2

No clue whats going on here. Any hint is greatly appreciated.

Thanks René

Metadata are soo fun
Thanks for reporting, I’ll take a look

Hi @guzzisti , should be fixed now. Let me know if you can test!

On my way

hmm…partially fixed from my perspective. It’s copied to the jpeg, but:

FNumber is shown as 2.8 within ART.
Exposure Time may be a correct fragment of a second, but i think 1/500 format is more common…

I have no clue why metadata - although having some standard like exif - is still such a mess nowadays. manufacturers happily implementing binary MakerNotes and shit… :man_shrugging:

What application are you using for checking this?
Anyway, can you try again? I’ve tweaked something, let’s see if it helps…

Thanks screencapture is nomacs: https://nomacs.org/
It was the same on 2 different web galleries.

Thanks again for improving, i’ll check back later (probably tomorrow).

Just tried it, export is fine now. :+1:

Thank you very much for your work.
