This one was taken the same day, about 20 minutes before the one above.

Not entirely sure about this one to be honest. I like it, but… And I don’t seem to be able to put my finger on that but. For one I keep jumping from not soft enough to not contrasty enough.

Now, this? I find it a lot more interesting than the first. Not just composition. It has a haunted, and surreal feel to it.

Yeah… Maybe I should be a bit less insecure about my work. There is, however, something that is bothering me about this last one, just can’t put my finger on it though.

About the first composition: The first one was a bit of an experiment to be honest. A rule-of-thirds gives you 3 areas (just using the vertical dividers). I consciously put the trees into those areas and the street light on the rightmost third. This just did/didn’t work out. I do believe it makes for an interesting viewing experience.

EDIT: A word.

I too like the second one better with the mood it creates. But the first one is interesting for the fact that the reflections are more prominent than the original trees and pole.

I noticed that the first time I looked at the image, too.

It’s a great image. Wonderful light and mood.
