For some of you this is the correct case for your next computer

And yes that includes me.

a year or 2 ago they made this case as kind of a joke first

but then people actually wanted to buy it

now we got the FLP02

I still use the case from my previous computer. I bought that in 2008. Still has the original case fans… I’ve replaced the PSU a few times, and the mainboard/CPU once.

well the 2 retro cases are more like late 1980ies, early 1990ies

Yes. I’ve already forgotten about the key on old cases…

I’d buy one. I don’t have enough computer cases :eyes:

Haha, the key. But never mind that… What size are those floppy drives? And does anyone still have any?

5 1/4 inch floppies.

AFAIK the US Army is even still using 8" floppies for their nuclear weapons.

I went with a Fractal case with orange interior and glass side for my new system. Absolutely love that thing!! Incredibly well built and great looking for the price.

Ha, cleaning out a closet a few days ago, found a box of them I hadn’t rounded up when I purged old stuff.

I saw this case on Ars, brought back a few memories, good and bad. Had one open one day doing installs, dropped a screw on the motherboard while running. Heard a poof and saw a bit of smoke, to our chagrin it continued to run, faster. Until it didn’t run at all.

Yeah. Computers run on smoke. If you break the chips, and the smoke gets out, they stop working (sooner or later, as your example illustrates).
