Join us for another installment of Science Stories, Science Onscreen: Making Explainers and Short Docs with host Katie Moisse, Assistant Professor, Interdisciplinary Science.
We’re thrilled to welcome Emily Buder, a Pulitzer Prize winning film and media professional with 10 years of experience in documentary, journalism, and programming. In this online talk, Emily will discuss how she turns complex scientific concepts into compelling short videos for Quanta Magazine’s YouTube channel. She will share her process of creating videos with intuitive visuals that distill abstract ideas and research into inspiring narratives. She will also discuss the challenges and opportunities of the medium.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A moderated by Jeff Goodes, Journalist in Residence for McMaster’s Faculty of Science.
