Some very good points
I think he’s making decent points. As finance hacks, we paid for everything; flights, lunches, one of us had to figure out the cost of a private helicopter flight to pay for it. I used to turn down sandwiches at conferences cos I can buy my own food, thanks. (Ok, one day I had a brutal hangover). I just can’t see how any of these YouTubers can be independent. Access pressure is bad enough in regular news, politics particularly, let alone product journalism. This is not at all a new problem but you have to be able to say feck it and lose a story. Good if you have a powerful or independent rebel-type news organisation behind you, pretty hard if you’re on your own and your salary is directly reliant on product corporations.
