Hi everyone, I’m new here. I started taking photos a year ago. After much deliberation, I decided to use Darktable to edit my photos. Quick question first: I’m not able to edit or delete my posts? ![]()
Clicking the pencil icon on a post, post title or comment of yours should bring you into editing mode.
Hi @siatko
You may be at “Trust Level 0,” which is where new users start on the forum. Just keep participating and your trust level (and privileges) will increase.
Welcome to the forum! That’s a very good photo.
Welcome to the forum. Very nice photo though, but I think the picture would profit from a less aggressive denoising.
You could have made for sure a worse decision. ![]()
Welcome @siatko , after participating for a while on this forum you’ll get rights to edit your posts.

You may consider participating in the play_raw section. Other forum members may ‘play’ with your image and post back their results. Often a nice way of quickly learning new ways of using darktable.
Your picture is very nice. My first comment would be that it is on the soft side. This may be as @Popanz mentioned a result of over de-noising. But it may also be a result of closing down your diaphragm to a value of 25. Which in itself may have been a conscious choice to gain depth of field.
Kind regards Jetze
Welcome to the forum. I too have pick Darktable as my preferred editing software over many commercial and free options. I love its capabilities. This image would make a nice playraw so you can see how others would edit the image and get ideas from them.
Welcome to pixls!
