Gimp 2.10.20 scaling very slowly

Updated from Gimp 2.10.18 (Partha’s build) to 2.10.20. Everything seemed to working fine till I tried scaling a 24 MP (TIFF) Photo 32 bit to 4 * 6 inches or 8.5 * 11" that seems to take for ever. I am on a Windows 10 box with 16 GB I7 CPU. Assigned 11 GB to the Tile Cache, OpenCL is disabled. On Gimp 2.10.18 scaling is super fast. What can I do to speed up scaling?

Hello, can’t help you as I am not on Windows. On Linux it works as it should, a 16MB NEF file opened in Gimp with Photoflow results in a 32bit floating point image. Scaling that down to 800x~600px is a sub-second action. So I guess it’s the Windows version that shows this problem.

I have just switched to Gimp 2.10.24 and have the same problem with scaling. Even relatively small images 4000x6000 pixels stall when scaling down by 50%. I have windows 10 and 16gb ram. The previous version of Gimp was just fine. If anyone has a fix please let me know.

Thank you
