GIMP 2.10.28 on MacOS 12.7.6 unable to refer Neff file to RawTherapee

Attempt to open a Raw (NEFF) file in GIMP results in the attached error message.

GIMP remains open. RawTherapee appears to launch but then fails.
Also tried in GIMP 3.0.0 RC1 with identical results.

NEFF file can be successfully opened directly in RawTherapee and referred to GIMP as TIFF or other formats.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Looks like GIMP can’t export the file to the temp directory location. Likely some macOS permissions files.
