GIMP 2.10.8 is now out.

Doron (GIMPChat) shared this info with us there; I now share it here.

Thank you, @lylejk
To my great surprise (and joy),

Have fun!

For those who do not have up-to-date packages in their preferred distribution, I have prepared an AppImage for the 2.10.8 release (both “bare” and with plug-ins):
GIMP_AppImage-release-2.10.8-x86_64.AppImage
GIMP_AppImage-release-2.10.8-withplugins-x86_64.AppImage

Already using your GIMP_AppImage-git-2.10.9-withplugins-20181108-x86_64.AppImage and works just fine. I assume it supersedes 2.10.8…

I’m always glad to know it is useful!

Not exactly… the 2.10.8 is the official release, while 2.10.9 is the current development branch, so it might be less stable.

Okay, I’m officially confuzzled. The announcement indicates that GIMP now successfully reads registry entries in Windows 10 for RawTeherapee v5.5.

Looking at the RT site, the latest version is 5.4.

Whisky Tango Foxtrot?

I prefer Whisky (not Whiskey). Never learned dancing…

@doobs That’s the typical hen/egg case…

RawTherapee 5.5 is not out yet, that is in reference to a development version.

Thanks.

Seems a little bass ackward, but who am I to talk…

So, this means I get to install GIMP v2.10.8 once RT v5.5 has been released, right?

I think, but am not sure, that it is about open a raw file in gimp, having RT open to process the raw, then pass the results into gimp, the same way that the old ufraw plugin for gimp worked.
