GIMP 3.0.6 - problem with the export function

Hello all here - hope you’re doing fine…

I have some problems with GIMP 3.0.6 as the export into the TIF format goes wrong every time:

  1. The chosen width, e.g. 40 cm at300 dpi, will not be recognized: I get e.g. 789 dpi and 100 cm when I check the graphics with PhotoShop.
  2. The TIF format is alway “blacked” out seen with PhotoShop and other graphic suites.

What do I wrong?

And my I suggest to return to the measurement dialog as it was to be seen with GIMP 2.10? It was much more eay to chose the width in cm and dpi - with correct transfers.

Hello, no problem here with AppImage 3.0.6. Exported a photo with dimensions 41,8x27,7cm at 300ppi to a tiff file and that shows exactly these dimensions in other softwares. And no “black out”.

Perhaps you exported to a special kind of tiff?

No, I’ve just used the

TIFT or BigTIFF

export function.

If do this with GIMP 2.X there is no prpoblem.
