If making art with open source software, such as darktable, gimp, etc sounds interesting, please consider giving a talk at the Fossy 2025 conference in Portland, Oregon July 31 to August 3. There’s a Libre Graphics track specifically for this. The call for proposals currently runs until April 28!

Good luck with this, but I fear that it is going to get harder to attract people to the US, especially if they have material on their devices that could be considered to be anti-Trump.
Thanks, definitely a big concern, and very understandable! I’m hoping to at least get word to any pixlsers within some kind of “safety” distance of Portland.

not even doing the conference outside of the USA is a good idea. people already warned to leave as you might not be able to come back. 
soooo we just make Fossy the LGM for the US

Yay! I live a quick drive from Portland. And no matter where you’re from, you’ll be welcome there. I’m excited about this event and hope to be able to attend. If you’re from out of the country, I can give a few of you a tour into the nearby Columbia River Gorge. Be sure to bring your camera.
