I currently use Gimp 3.2.0 on Windows 1. I just downloaded and installed gmic_4.0.3_gimp3.2_win64.exe.
When I go to Filters, GMIC-qt this is the message I get:
gmic_gimp_qt.exe- Enrty Po9ntb Not Found
The procedure entry point _ZNSt3_113_hash_memroyEPKvy cold not be loaded in the dynamic link library C:\User\myname\AppData\Local\Programs\GIMP3\bin\libpoppler-glib-8.dll
Can someone please advise how to correct this?

I know of a couple of reports about that file:

I would follow the GimpChat one and update to Windows Gimp 3.2.4 using the Gimp installer from GIMP - Downloads
and then reinstall the gmic_gimp_qt plugin

Windows 1? Your computer must be ancient!
On Windows 11, I have just updated Gimp to the current 3.2.4, then installed “stable” G’MIC from G'MIC - GREYC's Magic for Image Computing: A Full-Featured Open-Source Framework for Image Processing - Download . Both work fine.
I was initially confused that Filters | G’MIC-Qt was greyed-out, until I realised it needs an image.
I updated Gimp and installed correct version of Gmic qt.
I still get the same error, however if I click the error message 2x, leave gimp open, reopen the image I wanted to use Gmic qt on, then click the gmic qt at the bottom of filters, the Gmic then opens. It wirks but i dont think to get to it is right.
Any other suggestions? Again im using windows 11

I know very little of what goes on inside these machines but I asked Ai and it mentioned (DLL) AFAIK, The path to loading your new version may be interupted by an old version or parts of it or something like a Syntax error.
The repeat try then forces the error to be overlooked and loads the new version.
I would look for anything in files/folders related to older versions.
Just a guess, but hope it helps.
Thanks for the information. If Gmic shows up as a program under Unistall programs, am I best off uninstalling gmic altogether and then reinstalling?
I dont see that it would do any harm. I wonder if it would be ok to save it/re-save it into its own folder and make sure all remnants of old copy are deleted before fresh install.
I can try that, but if its a plugin maybe best to delete all of gimp, then go into any directory that shows Gimp and delete everything in there along with the directory itself and then reinstall all. Yes will also copy old stuff into a directory until im sure everything is working.
Not sure where or how i could tell what are old files anyway.

Since it works after you click through the error, it’s not actually broken. If you uninstall, try rebooting before you reinstall — Windows sometimes needs the restart to clear out old files.
Before you uninstall, note where files are saved from the preferences settings. That will show you what to back up or remove. Then follow (the other) Alan’s installation path.
Personally, I tend to go the standalone route so GIMP and G’MIC are exactly where I want them to be, making it easier for me to manage, update or replace.

Sounds like a plan. Like the Ai said last night…((DLL)…wrong path, probably an old file or part of, of similar name could confuse the loading, when you pressed the error thing twice, it prompted it to go ahead with the loading anyway.
Some bits of files do seem to linger around and out of sight. I deleted all Darktable, but prompts for it still appear when using gimp.

Went to Uninstall Programs and found an older version and the new version. Uninstalled older verion. Then went to app… and found old gmic folder and deleted that as well. Rebooted computer, installed new verion of gmic-qt and all seems to be well.
