I can’t get Gmic to work with the latest version of GIMP. When the program loads, it gets to the gmic file and comes up with the warning that it can’t find the memupdate in one of the dll files. Do I need to do the zip install? Is there a tutorial on how to update it with the zip?
Which OS are you running? Windows 10? And which GIMP is it and how did you install it?
I use the portable version of the official GIMP in a custom directory. You can drop the G’MIC zip contents in GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\gmic_gimp_qt
.
I am using the Windows 10 64bit version
I copied the entire directory into plug-in directory and still get the can’t find the memupdate in the dll file.
So, as a visual, the folder is right next to these. Is that what you see?
Could you show us the error you are getting?
Here is the error:
Something wrong with your GIMP: you might have to reinstall it.
Thanks, I reinstalled GIMP and GMIC and now they are both working. Thanks for all the help, sorry if I wasted time on something I should have tried before.
