Green vines on red barn door

I thought this image might be interesting to play with.

Here is my take in colour:

And a more fun black and white version, making use of the huge colour contrast:

Both done in darktable 5.2.0. No sidecar files, as the edits should be stored in the metadata of the jpgs itself (let me know in case that doesn’t work).

I really like that…esp the shade of green…I often find that greens are too yellow or too blue and oversaturated …that green looks very “real” and pleasing to me…

darktable 5.2.0. I was afraid that I had gone overboard with the saturation, but I don’t have nearly as much as some of y’all.

A typical image from Germany. “Keep exit clear” but the gate is already overgrown -

Some recent PlayRaw posts have got me interested in improving my monochrome skills in DT so I went the BW route. Still fumbling around trying to work out the best approach, but here is today’s attempt.

Just a photo enhancement this time. If I get less tired (i.e, rest), might try something else. lol

I wouldn’t have thought that this works with such an image but here I stand corrected.

More of an IR look.

Want to say it’s a duck. Anyway, thought I would return the favor with a Bronto. lololol

The color contrast does indeed help create a nice B&W image. I liked the way the vines framed the sign, so I went with a vertical crop to enhance that natural framing.
