For example, when using Crop and rotate module, trying to grab the corners or side bars has become a tricky task. It used to be that the whole of the marked area of corner/sidebar was active. Previously I could click anywhere in the marked box and drag the mouse. Now it’s a bit random, some parts of the box do nothing, other parts work fine, and it seems to change from image to image.
This might be because I am using the dev version of 3.7 or maybe I accidentally changed some setting.
I’ve just tried it on the latest Windows 3.7 build and I don’t see any different behaviour in either the Crop and Rotate or Crop modules. I can grab the sides or corners no problem.
Incidentally, it’s not recommended to use the Crop and Rotate module for cropping. Use it for rotating and then use the Crop module for actual cropping. Although I can’t say that it will solve your current problem.
Sometimes I get this. (darktable 3.6 on Windows 10 on a slowwww machine with not much RAM)
One workaround for me is to click and hold the left mouse button on a corner or sidebar that you want to drag, wait a split second for the dimensions to appear in the center and then you can drag.
I’ve been meaning to open the code and have a look but not got round to it yet
Interesting - click and hold for a second solves the problem! However, I have a fairly decent machine and lots of RAM so maybe I have screwed up my settings.
There was some talk of setting the buffer size to “insane” levels, but increasing the cpu/gpu/memory beyond 512 doesnt seem to make any difference. I have enabled OpenCL but my card is only a GeForce GTX 750 Ti
I have the same issue on all my installations of darktable 3.6.x no matter if it runs on Windows, Linux , with or without OpenCL and on stronger and weaker hardware.
