Hard to get the white balance and greens correct

Happy New Year to all. Would love some feedback for this image. One of a few shot on a very cloudy dull day. I’m struggling to get the white balance correct and the greens to behave themselves. Would love to see what this community can do both realistically and artistically.

My distro still has me on darktable 5.2.1, so this is with FilmicRGB.

I have done very little editing on this image. However, I could not easily get a nice white balance with the color calibration module activated. Instead the white balance here is the cloudy option found in the white balance module with color calibration module disabled. I am unsure what you want to do with the greens, but there are many tools to tweak the greens. However, I didn’t use them.

A quick play in GIMP. In hindsight I have probably overdone the colours.

Since none of us was on site where this was shot, it’s pretty hard to guess what the correct white balance would be. I didn’t mess with white balance at all.

Thanks, @FinDale. Looks like a stunning location. I’ve had a go using a very recent RT dev version (5.12-178-g04b435a60) and tried to stick with the newer tools available for highlight and dynamic range control along with wavelets and a few other things to enhance the colours and contrast.

Hope to see more images of this area sometime. Cheers.

Terry
