HELP - Siril won't launch!

Hi,

Siril does not launch when I click on the application. I’ve used it without problem in the last few weeks however today when I try to launch Siril nothing happens. The moment I click on the application the loading symbol next to my cursor appears for a second then after that nothing happens.

I have tried restarting and Uninstalling/Installing Siril again but still no effect. I suspect some important file that was needed for launching Siril was deleted. I have been trying to figure this problem out for 4 days already. :frowning:
Please help.

Thank You

What OS and what version of siril?

I am on Windows 10 and I am trying to use the 1.20 beta 2 version.

I just found out that Siril, downloaded from Microsoft Store, is still able to open. However, the Microsoft store doesn’t have the 1.20 version beta 2.

Thanks

I know it seems like it’s really obvious why it isn’t launching but I have tried everything and it doesn’t work. Please help

Just created an account to say, this is also true for me. 1.2.0 beta has been working great until yesterday, where the application would no longer start. I tried multiple PC restarts, to no avail.

I have removed Siril, and re-installed 1.0.6 and it opens immediately. I then tried reinstalling 1.2.0 beta and it no longer works.

I have just uninstalled Siril 1.2.0 again, and reinstalled 1.0.6 and again, it has opened immediately. So there must be something wrong with the beta suddenly for whatever reason.

I am on Windows 10 Pro.
By the way, this is a superb piece of software. Much appreciated to the developers

Hi lock. I downloaded the file, and ran it, and the log for 1.2.0-beta 2 says this:

Initializing FFTW multithreading support…
log: Welcome to siril v1.2.0-beta2
log: Supported file types: BMP images, PIC images (IRIS), PGM and PPM binary images, RAW images, FITS-CFA images, Films, SER sequences, TIFF images, JPG images, PNG images, HEIF images.

I read from the other thread on this, to delete the config.ini within LocalAppData. I did this and it has worked! I’ve tried closing/reopening Siril and it appears to be working.
Thank you very much!

Oddly the config.ini file was empty, a blank file. Now that the beta version has started up, it is a 3kb file with various settings, copy attached (renamed to .txt from .ini).
config - Copy.txt (2.4 KB)
