Histogram for side by side view in light table

I am getting started with digikam and have an issue understanding how the histogram display is working in light table side by side view.

I select three different images from thumbnails view and go to light table. In light table clicking through the images in the thumbnail view on the top displays different histograms. So far so good.
When I assign one of the images to the left part of the side-by-side. It get’s messy. I can’t get the histogram displayed for the image on the left side. I tried clicking on the image on the left side as well as on the thumbnail strip at the top.

Is that standard behaviour? If that is the case, why is it so?

I have attached some pictures to show where I have my difficulties. The first three pictures show the different histograms for the three images. That makes sense to me.

Now I have put picture number 2 on the left side and selected the 3rd picture / the one on the right. This is also as expected.

But here I have selected picture number 2 on the left but the histogram is showing the info for the picture on the right.

Why is it showing in the last picture where the left is selected the histogram for the right?

Thanks.

As no one came up with a solution, I assume this is a bug in digikam.

May I ask, how others are working around this issue? I think it is helpful information to see histogram differences between pictures which are from the same shooting session - not like the examples above which are only used to show the problem.

The left side also has a sidebar, here you will find the histogram for the left image, as well as the metadata, etc.

Thanks @dkdeveloper, I didn’t see the left sidebar.
