Histogram Settings Help!

Hello Everyone!

I am new here and new to Darktable and editing.
I don’t know what I did but now the histogram in the upper right hand corner was squished and the thumbnail in the upper left corner is black. It is only for this one picture.

Any help is appreciated!

Thank you!
Jerry

Hey @blakley13 welcome! Can you tell us the darktable version, your OS and maybe a screenshot? Thanks!

Windows 11
Darktable Version 4.2.1

I can not be sure, but it may simply be a case of hovering mouse over the histogram and selecting the correct options that pop up. Since your image is predominantly blue, maybe you have selected something like hide the blue channel.

I have noticed when Denoise is turned on - the histogram does as above.
I went back and started from the bottom and worked my way back up. Soon as denoise is on this happens. Any theories based off that?

This is a bug. Which denoise are you using?

Also, what file type/ camera?

Are you using scene preferred?

I am using the denoise (profiled)

Camera is a Cannon SL1 and this is a JPEG. (Forgot to switch to raw :frowning: )

I am not sure what scene prefered is?

Scene-referred (not preferred) is a mode of processing. Your can read about it in the manual.

Could you share the jpeg file plus the xmp? On some reason (technically speaking) the preview at the top-left corner stays black and thus the histo is wrong.
