I have this image.
When I create stroke in GIMP it is clean and smooth.
How can I create effect of this grunge, natural paintbrush but such that blends ?
Stylize, then embossing. Something on that line.

Not sure about embossing. I am not a digital painter but I would emulate this by painting the image (clean and smooth) first, then adding the texture and relief in successive layers.

style transfer?
Possible but it usually gives a Frankenstein result, which isn’t natural, but I guess one could use it as a base.
If possible, without style transfer. I don’t want to just copy it.
