Lovely image to play with!
Tried it with WB on the bluish white pier
Used decimate to downsize image (best way to downsize, imo) to keep to Pix’s guidelines. Then equalized local histograms to bring some details out. Also amplified the colors some and bilateral smoothed the water only (liked the haze look in the sky; my preference) to give a mirror like result to the water.
Where do I find those guidelines? Thanks. Sorry for dumb Q
[edit: found it. Thanks the reminder]
I think those reflections in the water at the bottom may be the most important element, yet some here crop it. You can see how glassy the water is back in this cove while out at the mouth you can see the wind making some chop.
GIMP. Removed the sensor spot (Healing Brush) and the twigs (Heal Selection). Luminosity masks to make local adjustments.
Since it looked rather early, I kept the image quite dark, and tried to make it a bit colder.
Also, a square-cropped version. I’m sorry about losing the mountains on the right, but the lake just felt empty there.
Did a little extra experimenting with masking in this one. Exposure on the land and sky. Color of the water at the bottom.
Thanks for the suggestion
I found it surprisingly tricky
Just call Retouch!
This interpretation looks credible without being boring, still not overdone. I really like the contrast between the snowy landing and the water. Great caption btw.
