How's the weather where you are?

More like 68 cm. The lack of precipitation last winter would offset the spring and summer increase.

Two days ago, we had more than 100 mm of rain within a few hours (officially 98 mm from Pearson Airport’s weather station), with the ground already saturated from previous days, so July is looking to be quite wet. I hear the clean up and repair costs will be in the ballpark of 1 billion dollars, which is a lot of money here. For context, Toronto has a 1.5 billion deficit.

Saturated ground can really multiply the effect hugely. I remember one December in the mid '90s we got about 13" (330 mm) over a 23 hour period. That’s extreme even for us and it was crazy. Water was actually flowing out of the storm drainage systems, in reverse direction, backfilling everything.

Indeed, we had plenty of videos showing backflow of murky sewage water. Even Drake’s mansion is not exempt from the stench. :poop:

Luckily, I do not work or live in the affected areas, so did not experience flood or power loss. Also, the city recently repaired the ravine and bridge infrastructure in my area.
