Huawei P30 Pro and its dng files

This phone was 2019 one of the best camera phones. At least according to this article Huawei P30 Pro review: The absolute best camera on any phone - CNET

Anyway, the JPEG files have a lot of artifacts so I tried shooting raw. Red is more like yellow thanks to RYYB sensor https://frankdoorhof.com/web/2019/04/solving-the-p30-pro-color-problems/

darktable-chart doesn’t work with darktable 4 so I couldn’t create a profile for P30 Pro.

I tried with color calibration module, but I was not satisfied. Adobe DNG Converter gave a better color matrix than the one from Huawei. Adobe also compressed the files from 76 MB to around 25 MB.

Feel free to play around with the raw samples. JPEG files are SOOC.

Your profile might be interesting.

Do you have the firmware update he mentions in a later post of his…link at the bottom of the one you provided…seems like he declared it corrected …at least for color??

I did the update on my P30-Pro and it does make a difference but I still find that RAW (dng) files from that phone require special corrective attention which I generally manage with a warming and saturation change using the ‘color correction’ module.

I have updated everything I could. But he wrote .161 so perhaps not the same thing?

you can use darktable 3.6 to use darktable-chart

Ooc JPG seem towards orange no?? I have a SC 24 and the red is not that orange?? Or is this something I am making up ??

The SOOC JPEG red patch seems to be a little bit toward orange, yes.

I was just asking as in the link from that other poster he seemed to indicate that the JPG came out corrected to red…so I was just curious
