New year’s resolution is to take more portraits, and for that I wanted a cheap but super portable lighting setup, so small that I could bring it with me every day in my (admittedly large) bag I bring wherever I go. The light is a cheap ZU-80 80W bicolor, and I replaced the AC adapter with a 12v step down converter for Makita batteries. The stand is Ulanzi, which just about holds up the light and the umbrella. The umbrella is an ordinary trifold UV protective type that’s completely white and reflective on the inside. It all comes together quite small!
There’s probably even more compact solutions, but I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out, considering that most of the stuff has dual purposes in most cases. The Makita battery usually powers my 18v tools, the step-down converter will be used for anything 5-13v I want to power, and an umbrella, well, is always an umbrella…
Still got to tidy up the cables and get better connectors though.
