ICM profiles for newer and mirrorless cameras in RAW Therapee?

Hi everybody!

Am I alone who is bothered with that quetsion? RT version 5.8 comes with incredible nice color management, raw processing, including CIECAM and other nifties.

But, without proper ICM profile for a camera it is pretty useless. Well, there is not a single profile for Nikon Z camera in RT 5.8. Neither there are profiles for D780, D850, etc.

There are Nikon D500, D750, D810, D600, and that is all. How do you use this software without proper camera profile???

Same situation is probably FujiFilm, there is only XT-2, and no XT-3 camera, and Canon, etc

Thanx for any input.

I believe 5.8 was released before the Z series existed. Have you tried a recent development build?

Thank you. Yes, I can extract profiles from development builds!

Z7 is there, no Z7 ii , hope it will be fine.

You can select arbitrary profiles in Colour tab → Colour Management → Custom → Select any icc/icm/dcp profile you want.

@Mira_Studio The fact that the dcpprofiles folder does not contain a DCP file for a specific camera does not mean we do not support accurate color rendition. Please also check the camconst.json file in your installation directory. If it contains a dcraw_matrix field, the camera colors will usually be great.

Currently there are color matrices for the Nikon Z5, Nikon Z6, Nikon Z6 II, Nikon Z7, Nikon Z7 II and Nikon Z50. In addition, matrices for the D780 and D850 also exist (the D850 has been profiled more thoroughly even).

@Mira_Studio

You can create one, a dcp profile, yourself using dcamprof.

I have a Nikon Z 6ii and on a semi-regular base create scene specific dcp profiles to use with my RAWs. I did not spend the time and effort to create a dual illuminant profile though. As already mentioned by @paperdigits you can load these profiles using the Colour Management section.
