Image completion / inpainting solved ?

(David Tschumperlé) #1

Here is some astounding work from the latest SIGGRAPH conference, about image completion / inpainting:

The algorithm uses convolutional neural networks, and seems to work in real-time.
I’m bluffed :star_struck:

So if I trained the face completion function using a database of Arnold Schwarzenegger portraits…

That could be fun to see

For information, I’m currently trying to write some code for the forward evaluation of such neural networks, and my latest tests show that the evaluation itself is probably fast enough to make it usable in G’MIC.
I’m not speaking about the learning phase though

To my east surprises me, although I never could test it
