I shot an event in a theatre, low light, small flashes, high ISO.
Still I am not a very skilled RT user and I am currently using 4.0.x
So my question might be out of date. But still, can someone give me a hint?
(will post examples later on).
The dark parts either show ugly solarization effects, pixeling up the darkness, or if I correct for these, harsh edges from dark gray to black.
Is there a more elegant way to fix for that?
Does 4.2 help in this case?
Thanks!

I could just upgrade, ok, but what is the solution to this specific problem?
I don’t think the upgrade helps in itself. this is surely not a program bug

Example E shows what I can see in RT as well as the CIECAM curves.
The corresponding .pp3 is behind the second link. If someone needs more details.
How do you know?
It does in fact look like a program bug, plus in-camera noise reduction which the raw file does not have, and hot pixels.
Upgrade to RT5, then get back to us if there’s still a problem.

Thanks! This will take a while and a major system upgrade.
