Import from Lightroom to Darktable Doesnt Apply Edits on Windows 5.01

Hi

I recently installed Darktable 5.01 on windows - I saved the XMP sidecar file in Lightroom and checked that it was in the same directory as the raw NEF files. I then did an “add to library” and went to the darkroom module. The keywords/star ratings were there, but NOT any of the edits.

I then switched to an installation of Darktable 5.0 running on a Debian VM on a Chromebook. Undertook the same process and the edits DID show up in darkroom.

Is this a bug?

LR edits don’t transfer…you get a bare minimum of meta data they are not the same program at all or compatible …

Welcome to the forum. I see that you are new…

Are you actually referring to the lighttable view of DT???

I believe exposure and a few other basic things do get imported. But using old, deprecated/not recommended modules.

That was my understanding and it appears to work when you go into darkroom on Linux but not Windows. Just having the cropping/rotation and any mono conversions is useful even if I have to go back in to edit the photo.

Thanks for the welcome  New to DT having used Lightroom a lot and Capture One fairly heavily. Time to make permanent move to a better place!

In fact you do, but they’re unusable. I really wish I could just import tags.

If you ever understand how you disabled the edits part, please tell. I’ll redo my import. I’d much rather begin from a clean slate as the edits use some modules I’d never use in darktable and look nothing like they did in Lightroom.

This is it, sadly.

Import, select all images in the light table, then select discard history

Thanks. Should have added a tag at important to designate the Lightroom imports.
