Improve my network setup for editing RAWs from a NAS

Currently I store my RAWs on my Synology NAS which is connected via CAT 7 cables and 1 GB/s ethernet via my Fritzbox 7490 to my editing PC. This PC runs arch linux and I connect to my NAS via NFS as this was, at the time I set this up, the fastest method. Do you see any bottlenecks, room for improvement? Or is i/o already fine the way I have it?

In my personal experience, unless you have a 10Gb connection it’s a PITA to work over a NAS.
I have a Synology as well, connected to a UDM Pro Switch with a 10Gb, but I need to buy another 10gb card for my mac. I’m currently using a local SSD that is soooooo fast and using the NAS as a backup.

Get a decent sized SSD and use darktable’s local copy feature.
