I have a need for inserting small jpg file into PNG.
I don’t have PHOTOSHOP or other comercial software.
It’s one time need. So looking for simple solution: edit PNG , insert JPG, save and forget about problem.

Thx.
Darix, thank you… I never did bad things in my whole life
I am sure you don’t need my excuses … just saying. I need to insert QR code into the picture of future banner.
So, simply install on Windows, Import my png and click insert ?
Or some more complex instructions. Pls provide if it’s not straight forward.
Thx.
Please guide me
I opened the source PNG file into which I want to insert JPG (QR code image).
I will continue to look into the menu, but if you are here pls help to make it quickly
Use “Open as layers” from the File menu. That’ll open both images in the same file. Drag the QR code where you want it, then choose File > Export and save a new image.
prior to your answer I simply druged the qr image to opened main one. It positioned in center But I could not drug it to needed place and resize to needed size.
I closed GIMP without saving and reopend as you suggest. The same result . I cannot change position and size. How to?
Gimp is the solution for you. You may need to refer to the user guide for understanding. But open the PNG and then open as layers the QR code. You want to use the scale tool to scale the QR code to the correct size. You want to then use the move tool to move the layer to the correct position. When this is all correct you can export the image. The tools I mentioned are in the toolbox.
I make posters for the lab all the time with qr links… I just insert the JPG or PNG into Word and also the QR codeb and then position and print to PDF. So likely open office could also work for something simple like this…
I thought and tried word… the story that I need my QR on image.
So it doesn’t matter if the main image is in the office… After little guidance few clicks and “complex” problem was solved.
