Rationale
I was looking for a way to easily display my photography portfolio. I didn’t want to build an entire site from scratch, and the existing static site generators weren’t really geared towards simply displaying a collection of photos. I found the excellent nanogallery2 library and created f2.8gallery to fill this niche by simply letting you place your photos in folders (grouped by subject matter) and it will create a responsive site for showcasing your images.
