[invalid] Can not save files with RawTherapee 5.1

Hello,

Been using Rawtherapee for a couple of years on Ubuntu. Today while I was working through my raw files from my Nikon camera, same as I have done for the past couple of years, I get an error message:

File saving error

/home/rjhanson/Desktop/png-files/dsc_8776-1.png

Now I had spent an hour prior working on raw pictures when this just started. when online to see if anyone has any solutions and did not find any. Uninstalled and reinstalled Rawtherapee 5.1. The first picture saved just fine. The second picture produced the error again.

Now on the previously installed Rawtherapee the file saved was 0 in size. After reinstalling, the first failure produced a 70 mb file (should be 144.7mb). I tried again and the second fail of the same picuture produced a 5.6 mb file.

Same Nikon D3300, same raw file format, same computer

Any ideas so I can get my work done?

Thanks

Richard

Hi

  • Please upload the raw file + PP3,
  • paste the output of df -h /home/rjhanson/Desktop/png-files
  • try saving as JPEG or TIFF to /home/rjhanson/Desktop/png-files
  • try saving the PNG to some other folder not in ~/Desktop

Hello Morgan,

Never mind, duh, duh, duh!!! Creating new files only works when there is space on the drive. The one thing I forgot to check.

How do I close this?

Thanks

Richard

We don’t close issues, we sometimes tag them with “solved,” as I’ve done here.
