I quite like this forum category, the idea of sharing a raw image and asking others to “interpret” it and share their results and, importantly, the associated sidecar file. I’ve downloaded several of these threads and loaded the sidecar files so I could see what specific steps were taken to create the final image.
I’d like to put these together in a website, which would make it easier to download and examine the images as a group. Then they can be opened in Darktable, with all the correct names, e.g.
from Landing doves - help needed
Opening an individual image shows the history stack
Eventually I’d like to parse the sidecar file and create a web-based set of instructions on the steps necessary to get from the raw image to the final one.
If you’re interested in sharing the sidecar files you’ve uploaded in this forum, simple respond to this message. I’ll then use your username to look at the posts you’ve made in this category that contain a sidecar file.
