Is there a way to Automatically Auto Tune Levels for Filmic RGB

Hi. I’m looking for a way to auto-tune levels for each image when applying the preset to images. I don’t want press the auto-tune level for each time that i apply the filter. Is there a way that automatically auto tunes the levels?

You can google something called the Initial workflow script. It can be slow as it runs through and can set many things but you could use that…it must also mean that you could use the code from the Lua script to do it if you write your own

No need to Google its here: GitHub - UliGesing/Darktable-Initial-Workflow-Module: This script extends darktable. It offers a new "inital workflow" module both in lighttable and darkroom view. It can be used to do some configuration for an initial image workflow.

Not really answering your original question which has already been answered, but I used to use the auto tune levels all the time before, but I have stopped doing that now because it presumes there is something extremely white in the image and which is often not the case. I use the eyedropper next to the white relative exposure and often have to then pull it back to the get a highlight. I then use the black relative exposure slider’s eyedropper and more often than not I am happy with where it lands. However, even that slider overshoots with some low contrast scenes. But the auto tune levels followed by tweaking as required would effectively be the same anyway.

I’ve bound a hotkey to auto-pick both black and white, and also another to only pick white. Additionally, I’ve bound Shift+F+mouse-wheel-scroll to move the white relative exposure, and Ctrl+F+mouse-wheel-scroll to adjust the black relative exposure.
I use those scroll combos (the one for white, mostly) to fine-tune the image: once I enable local contrast (often multiple instances, as I have a preset that works on highlight detail, e.g. to enhance clouds), I may run into clipping.
