Is there an easier way to remove flare?

Hi,

Besides using the stamp tool, is there any other /easier way to remove flares on the picture? While it’s ok to use the stemp tool if the background is sky or other uniform objects, but when the round flare bubbles appear over trees or forest or mountains, I’m not sure how to best remove them in RT, GIMP or PS.

If the flare is over complex objects, it is going to be difficult. The easiest way is to shoot two frames whole capturing, and cover the light source with your thumb in the second frame.

If the flare is in an easy spot like the sky, I like GIMP Resynthesizer’s heal selection.
