I got a little carried away with the color balance, but I did try some masking in the contrast eq and exposure modules to try to take away from the cove, and keep the details focused on the surrounding hills. Also added a vignette that I think might be too pronounced. Overall was going for a darker, more contrasted look while still retaining the postcard look…because I like the postcard look for this.
I thought there wasn’t enough sky at the top, so I re-cropped by adding a frame that was the color of the sky at the right, moved the frame module in the stack so it would show up earlier, and did retouching to copy in parts of the sky to “heal” it back and let it make it look more correct. This gives the cliffs a little more “breathing room” above.
After that, I did a custom crop to show more of nature and hide the building on the right. Man-made objects are mainly nestled in the mountain or sailing about on the water.
I used a color calibration duplicate to darken the blue channel, so the sky and the water would be a darker part of the image, so the cliffs should be emphasized more on the right.
I also boosted the saturation and decreased the value of the orange in the cliffs, to make them stand out a little more.
I also worked on the tones of the image with duplicate modules and such.
There are additional changes (including hue adjustment) that aren’t mentioned above, but those are the highlights.
