Very interesting image to play with. Quite a challenge to preserve both highlight and denoise the shadow when trying to equalize the tone. Here’s my attempt:

Tomorrow on my PC I will try to do another version but only focusing on denoise and preserving the shadows, the laptop screen does not allow me to get the best out of this challenging image.
