…after I started this senseless thread, I thought I have to give you something for compensation. 
I fear there are not that endless possibilities. But I’m really interested in, what you will make of this scene…

It’s better without it I think
To me this is a case of
Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.
…and away I took, all contrast and all highlights from what I perceived to be negative space. Then I truned around and dumped it all on the subject in the form of, again, contrast and aggressive dehazing.
This is the result
(edit: replaced the pic, raised the mids in the negative space by quarter of a stop)
I can’t say I love this rendition, but it is kind of interesting to my eye.
Not only to your eye. It looks indeed, well I wouldn’t say nice, but I like it.
Processed the sky differently from the background then applied a slight bend to the horizon to enhance the perspective. More than many might not like the bend.
