Really nice, the oranges and yellows are very pleasing! What did you find difficult about this?

Please remember to compress your jpg a bit in the future.

At the time of posting this, nothing really, just really liked the result. But I replaced it shortly after first posting, and whatever happened in-between did indeed require some judicious balancing.

Orange was clippping. Which, as probably most of us, I stopped caring about a long time ago. JPEG is a tight space, anything saturated will be clipping. At least that’s how I was usually approaching colors. WIll probably rethink this stance after this.

I think the result was pleasing, but there was a bit of detail loss and as I noticed it, I wanted to give a technically sound approach a try.

Pulled down orange brightness in color equalizer, redone the colors in AgX from scratch. It was okay, but a bit too dark, and a bit too reddish. Tried all kinds of AgX black magic to fix the color, though I gave myself the constraint to keep “reverse all” ticked. A lot improved, but the reddish hue remained unbeaten. Figured out I can fix the brightness by using lift in AgX instead of slope which I usually reach for (With lift I’m sometimes a bit worried I’m gonna lose contrast, maybe not justifiably so). Then back to color equalizer, I changed the hue of the flower. Hue changes are also something I don’t do very often, usually it’s a pretty aggressive action.

Anyway, this is how the pic changed.

Maybe. Maybe I misunderstood what the purpose is. Since Showcase exists, I always thought that playraw is mostly for asking for takes on images people have a bit of trouble with, and that showing off there would be a bit of misplaced exhibicionism, hence I posted it here

Nice work. I always find yellow/orange flowers challenging, very prone to clipping and hard to get the details right.

You don’t need to post images on Play raw. We have hundreds of Play raw images. I don’t see the point in asking for more.

I think there might be the point of being interested in how OP made it work.

Yeah, that is what I thought too. That color of orange going into yellow can be really difficult to manage! I think you’ve done well and should be pleased with the results
