Kinnaird Light, with railings

We got to go out on the walkway at the top of the light. It was dusk by then, and the contrast between the light and sky wasn’t great.

To improve the look, I need to separate the light from the sky. However, I have real problems doing this when there are railings round the structure, I am not sure what the best way to mask this.

Great photo!
My play: +1EV in Filmulator, then into GIMP. I used luminosity masks to make local adjustments of brightness, contrast and saturation.

Very nice photo,

I did the masking on the chroma channel (Cz).

Hope you like it, regards, Jetze

Perhaps a line-art version?

I am leaving it dark, because “it was dusk”.

Fun exercise. I went with B&W on this, but my smoke detector went off so its probably overcooked. Others did this better, but thanks for the play.

It’s Scotland, in winter :waning_crescent_moon:

Sunset on the day the picture was taken was around 15:30

Oh! That’s right.

I just went for my different look by playing with color equalizer module to remove the cool colors and enhance the warm tones.
