La Manche near Calais : le cran d'Escalles

A place we like very much to be. A picture I found hard to choose the direction I would take. This came out of it finally.

What’s your take!?

Got a complementary colour thing with that field and the water/sky.

I like the tilled field at the seaside. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that.

I like @age 's edit. I won’t post mine. It is meh.

PS - Ok, I spent more time and got a nice rendering. No tone mapper.

Wow! very nice to see such differences! Thanks!
I think my near to b&w version being relatively dark influenced some of you.

@iblazhko - nice Ivan, what’s not to like in your interpretation! Specifically I like the crop and the soft touch in light, color and contrast. The sea being quite light too.

@gwbarn - very close to one of my versions, the foreground in yours is a bit warmer which I really like! The sea can be given any color it seems

@age - a ‘darker’ interpretation… dark sea and bit darker coast of England with more detail, darker clouds. Quite moody…

@Tim - behind the fence are just a couple of meters before the cliff goes steep down to the sea… which lays some 10m lower. I like the result of your second attempt - which is light and bright - as well as I like you’ve made a second attempt!

@Zbyma72age - warm, dark and saturated, very moody!

@Jose_Figueres - deep darks in foreground and the sea, close to spooky and bright cliffs as contrast…

@kakashy - very soft and bright interpretations. As if the foreground was in the sun just like the Brittish cliffs.

Lovely!

Home-rolled version of darktable, so the XMP will probably not be readable.

Klopt allemaal Eric,

Het is goed toeven daar buiten het seizoen. Altijd fossielen…
Wat wil een mens nog meer…

That’s right Eric,

It’s a very nice place outside the season. Always fossils to be found…
What more a being may wish…
