How should I consider handling the sky? Is it too blown out IYO? perhaps I should make more adjustments with the tone equalizer for the land? how would you do it? thanks! (the jpg may look different than the sidecar because I added subtle changes with gimp)
Wow! Looks nice! I guess I’ll have to get acquainted with Raw Therapee to see what you did step by step. I wonder how I’d acheive something similar with Darktable? thanks
filmic or sigmoid should be able to pull down the sky and give you details or you can try without either and do it all with the tone eq…I will take a run at it later when I have access to DT…you can sometimes just use a gradient mask on the sky with multiply mode and tweak opacity as well…there are quite a few options you just have to be careful you don’t just end up making it a muddy gray…You can also expt with the HDR preset in the local contrast module…you will likely have to adjust opacity or apply shadow contrast maybe but it can pull out details in the sky as well…
Sky is showing as blown in the green and blue channels. I found Sigmoid better for working with the sky on this image. I did try filmic but Sigmoid handled it better in my hands.
