Landing goose nearly monochrome

Here’s a play raw from a recent shot. I came up with quite a desaturated edit (no masks used for color or saturation).

I like your monochrome edit. I saw no point copying that approach so I mainly looked at cropping. The high pixel count of your camera allows a lot of cropping which is great for bird photography.

i think i probably should’ve changed the shimmer on the water a little bit more

I don’t - it looks great.

Currently in my edit the shimmer is really flat. i probably should’ve made it a bit more defined but that’ll probably require manually putting a path on each and useing color balance to brighten it up a little bit in the specific part of the shimmer where i want.
I’ll do a follow up soon with what I mean but probably a bit less idiotic than so many paths

here i slighly adjusted the shimmer but then with a local contrast
