Rapid change of temperature and humidity brought about some condensation when I captured this (and a few other exposures) back in September. I have attempted to use Haze Removal to address the resultant artifacts when I bump up the exposure. I’d love to see what else could be done. Whilst I’m sure GIMP and G’MIC will have potential, even more I’d love to see a good darktable solution.

Quick try still in the shadows a bit I guess…

Hey Todd, thanks for this.
I notice a “Dehaze Special V1” preset in Tone Curve. Created just for this, or something you have used in the past? Which of your jpgs matches the xmp? I’m guessing the top one.

Here is my try:

It should be the same for both but I just rendered the image in relative and perceptual versions…I do use a preset sometimes that is just the tone curve and blended at low opacity in subtract. Its just another version of a dehazing like effect. I also do it with multiply… I also use the blend modes like this with an instance of exposure and subtract and addition blending… using addition blend mode and a sort of graded luminosity mask you can help to bring up the shadows…

The blend modes in DT are very useful indeed…

I have been using the preference profile for some time now from here

Although from the descriptions the appearance one might be a better choice… I might experiment a bit more. I found the relative rendering from the preference profile a bit stronger and bolder which for some images is what I like … for others perceptual works well…

Thank you to all the contributors.
@priort, I need to play more with blend modes, it seems.
@Thomas_Do - particularly like your rendition

Still a bit hazy. Thanks for the challenge.
