Fun shot to edit. I thought this was one image that needed two instances of exposure and a gradient mask to blend them.

I was trying to do bracketed exposure shots in this location but too much traffic and lighting for my liking lol so settled for single shots.

A HDR would look crap on this. A gradient filter in DT works really well and saves the stuffing around with gradient ND filters on camera. The dynamic range in the shot is fine for one decent exposure which you have achieved here.

Come on @Popanz this is your sort of dramatic shot that you will shine at. Where’s you edit?

Here is some crap  Same edit just HQR on for the first and off for the second…road comes out a little different and maybe some other bits…

Basecurve version from Christian’s DT fork…

@priort I was referring to combining three or more RAW exposures as a HDR. I don’t feel that approach would be justified for this scene. Even my two exposure modules could be looked at as a kinda HDR approach. You Pseudo HDR type approach works well on this image.

Ya I know …in my case I meant more the look than the process…. Still crap I suppose as are most of my edits…

The lens is very sharp! I applied some bloom in the distance to soften things a little.

Although I like lots of texture in my clouds, this is not too shabby

I actually like your edit and you have taught me some good editing skills in the past and I am sure in the future as well.

Used whirl and pinch to push the vanishing point blending the original sides back in. Did some eyeball color enhancements afterwards. Yes; clone/heal brush work, too.

After just four hours I’m personally called upon an edit. This sets me under pressure. And you know, at a certain age it starts, that it doesn’t work under pressure.

Did you wake up to that little ghost or yours being projected against the cloudy morning sky?

In some ways this landscape feels uncannily familiar - squint, and it could be the Southern Tablelands in NSW Australia…

I didn’t like the colour palette so went for a dramatic mono version

I was asked for drama, so here comes a little bit of drama. I’m not yet really happy with it. I guess I as well struggle a bit with the colour palette, even though I tried to alter it to please me more.

Monochrome as well.

Which do you prefer? I tend to monochrome.

I love how you took a different, smooth approach with the sky.

Me, too!

All around very neat edits here  !
