AgX preset + slight crop.
Google Robert Hutton and DT…He has one of the few demonstrations of the edges function That I have seen… It’s for the module when it was just called the Equalizer…see if that might be of any help
@Jetze you nicely made those fields shine, giving a painterly look. This inspired me to green those grasses. I think it didn’t nail it 100% but it was a fun exercise.

vkdt edit. probably went a bit overboard with the cyan lift (using @Randalix ’ new widget) and the overall saturation. used the gamut preset to make sure i don’t run over spectral locus with the colours. also used a drawn mask + blend of a shifted image to prolong the yellow center marker in this crop, as i liked how it strengthens the central perspective:

Thought about focussing on the hill and raincloud in the background, then it turned into some sort of ‘opposing colours’ edit. Little colour grade with tone curve at the end.

Nice edits! Nice to see so many different versions. I’m gonna look for another favorite image probably HDR merge in DT and post it shortly for another edit session.
Inspired by some of the awesome film simulation results above, I thought I’d try a LUT in darktable. From the previous edit: turned off rgb primaries, then turned on the LUT. I found it awhile ago and is in a folder “Natron Github cluts for GMIC.”

There is more contrast and some color difference, esp. less blue in the sky, compared to the previous edit.
I find myself resorting to LUTs like this one more than I care to admit. I suppose this means I should learn more about tuning contrast and color in dt.
I look forward to the continued development of filmsim tools as discussed elsewhere.
