LightTable: digital darkroom

Hello! Tried out LightTable because of the spektrafilm integration, and I’m really liking the results so far. I’ve seen quite a few projects like LightTable popping up lately and I am hoping your project sticks around and keeps improving.

I still stand by this explanation:

That camera has a film simulation mode

Yes but he probably post processed it to look like the film shots, to keep have a consistent color, contrast, etc.

Or ooc jpeg with in-camera simulation.

I’m an owner of XT30, thanks

Nice. Then you might consider the possibility, that the similarity between these film images and the digital camera‘s ones could be due to the latter‘s film simulation mode

Honestly, your argument that film and digital look the same anyway is immediately contradicted by the fact that different films have vastly different renderings.

That’s not his argument. But at the end of the day, color wise, if you have reference shots like his example, or James Popsys, you can approximate the look in any raw developer such that not a lot of difference will be perceptible.

Well, he was questioning film simulations because he can see no difference between digital and film - I would not know how to understand the argument differently, in the context of this thread.

Except I wasn’t questioning them, but okay

Then your argument was the other way round - that the film vs digital discussion is meaningless because we can simulate films so well?
