lighttable - left panel resizing

I am wondering if it is possible to resize the left panel in lighttable to my needs:

  1. make the collections/folder panel taller as there is plenty of space underneath the image information (see #1 in attached screenshot)
  2. make the whole left panel wider. See #2, this is the widest possible setting of the panel. It is not possible to expand it anymore. I use a 4k monitor so it should be no problem with the appropriate space.

Appreciate your thoughts.

You should be able to hold Ctrl and scroll your mouse to increase the height of the collections module. As for the panel size that might need a code change.

For #2, hover your mouse over the right side of the panel, then click and drag to resize the width.

#1, Yes, it works suddenly (user problem I guess)! Thanks. But I cannot expand the module to full height.
#2, thanks. Good to know it doesn’t work.

yes it works to a certain point. I presume it is the widest possible size. After that is stops resizing (see screenshot above).

Yes, there does seem to be a max width.

Re #1, to be more precise: Ctrl + Scroll works just for the film roll. Definitely not working when in folder view.

It won’t resize beyond the current content, though it will change the maximum size. Presumably in film roll view there’s more data to display.

In my folder view there are heaps of folders I imported to dt. I can only see a tiny bit of them. So there is actually more to display.

Ok I reproduce that. Sounds like a fault to me. Please can you raise an issue on github.

I would if I could. tbh I have no clue how to raise an issue on github.

Go here: https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/issues/new/choose. You’ll need to create an account.

Thanks, done.
